Prince William States Plans to Transform the Royal Institution Once He Ascends to King

During an unusually open conversation, Prince William has declared that he aims to implement change to the institution after he becomes king. Chatting with actor Eugene Levy, the Prince expressed his outlook for a royal house that progresses while honoring its heritage.

Embracing Change

In their revealing exchange, Prince William made it clear that change forms part of his plans. He remarked, "In my view it's safe to say that modernization is on my agenda. Positive change, and I accept that, I value that progress. I am not afraid of it, that's the bit that excites me, the concept of being able to bring some change. Not completely revolutionary, but modifications that I think are necessary."

Balancing History and Modernity

In their exploration of the historic fortress, Prince William commented on the weight of tradition. He revealed, "In my opinion if you're inattentive, tradition can be a significant burden weighing you down, and you can sense limitation by it, and constrained by it excessively. And I believe it's essential to focus on the present moment."

The royal heir highlighted the importance of custom but admitted he isn't afraid to question practices to keep the royal family relevant. He asked, "Occasionally when you examine tradition and wonder, is that still suitable today? Is that still the proper course to do? Do we continue to doing and having the most impact we should be making?"

Domestic Pressures and Private Thoughts

The conversation turned private direction when discussing family matters. Prince William opened up about the strain of dealing with both his parent and his wife dealing with serious illness. He confessed, "Stuff to do with family overwhelms me, significantly. You know, anxiety or tension around the family side of things - that truly impacts me quite a bit."

Speaking about how his offspring managed when their mother was sick, William explained their family strategy: "We try to make sure we give them the security and the comfort that they deserve. And we're a quite transparent family, so we discuss things that concern us, and matters that trouble us, but you may not fully understand the knock on effects that it can have. And so, it's particularly essential to be there for each other and to somewhat reassure the young ones that everything is okay."

Thoughts About Childhood Experience

When asked about his upbringing of growing up in the spotlight, Prince William referenced his sibling Harry and the intense scrutiny his mother and father endured. He shared his hope: "I wish we prevent reverting to some of the practices in the former times that we both experienced during childhood. And I'll do everything I can to ensure we don't regress in that scenario."

Casual Encounters and Private Disclosures

Their meeting wrapped up in an informal atmosphere at a close-by public house, where Prince William seemed particularly at ease. As they enjoyed their drinks - Levy drinking a glass of stout and William with a sweet alcoholic beverage - the conversation flowed naturally.

Looking toward the ahead, the future king shared his hope to establish a society his heir would be happy with. He commented, "Understand that existence is sent to test us as well and it undoubtedly becomes demanding at times, and being able to overcome that is what forms us who we are. I'm extremely pleased of my wife and my father, for how they've handled all of recent months. My offspring have coped exceptionally well as well."

In this remarkable conversation, the future monarch came across as at once deeply traditional and sincerely progressive, offering a perspective into the monarchy's likely evolution under his coming reign.
