19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hard court from March of the previous year.
The win also indicates he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to force a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
