The heavy metal icon Revealed He Would Modify a Single Detail in His Life, According to a Moving Film

In a concluding discussion, the celebrated musician the Black Sabbath frontman stated he wouldn't change a thing about his journey, speaking in a poignant documentary recorded before his passing.

The music icon succumbed this past July at the age of 76, less than three weeks after a celebrity-filled final show in his birthplace.

What a great way to exit that concert proved, he said in a concluding conversation for the film.

The documentary titled Coming Home documented the final three years of his existence and aired this past Thursday. The hour-long documentary was initially planned to be screened during August, but was postponed honoring the loved ones' desires for a further delay.

Ending Sentiments

I've experienced great joy, he stated at the end of the film. I've had a lot of blood, sweat and tears, understandably.

It's been a remarkable existence. If given another chance, I would alter nothing.

The Final Concert

He further discussed how his sentiments almost overwhelmed him throughout the moving farewell performance in Birmingham this past summer.

During the program, Kelly, his daughter observed that all were weeping at the venue as he performed the song Mama, I'm Coming Home – a piece composed for Ozzy and his wife Sharon by the Motorhead frontman.

The lyrics escaped me, recalled Ozzy, noting that it felt unbearable to be seated on a throne to perform because of a serious spinal injury.

The only thing that proved extremely aggravating for me, I had to sit there as opposed to pacing the platform, the legendary singer said.

I wanted to get up and perform fully. It felt rather emotional to stay in that position for nine songs.

In addition to his band, the event featured performances from numerous musicians they influenced, including influential groups.

Medical Struggles

The star, who revealed in 2020 that he had Parkinson's disease, featured in the days after the concert saying he was stepping away from the spotlight.

Originally known for his performances and legendary exploits, the UK-born artist and loved ones transferred to California during the 2000s and became the stars via their innovative series, their family show.

The program tracks the pair during their preparations for their aspiration to return to their property in Hertfordshire, UK.

I don't want to be interred in the United States, he affirmed during the program.

Additionally, it features his physical therapy sessions and using equipment with spinal and leg assistance as part of his determined bid to perform once more a final time.

He desires that chance to bid farewell to his audience respectfully, commented his wife.

His daughter Kelly – appearing in the program with her brother and sister, his additional offspring with his wife – shared: I consistently believed my dad was invincible. But Iron Man proved vulnerable after all.

Career Influence

As the voice of his band, the UK-born performer is credited as one of the founding fathers of heavy metal, due to tracks such as Iron Man and Paranoid.

However, he experienced numerous medical issues. He was seriously injured in a quad bike crash in 2003, and experienced spinal trauma in a late night fall recently, that eventually resulted in him having to cancel his two-and-a-half-year farewell tour.

Final Releases

His autobiography, titled Last Rites is set for release after his passing soon.

A portion released disclosed that the deceased musician contracted sepsis early this year, and it was really touch and go for a period.

All relatives basically thought I was a goner, he stated.

He further disclosed he underwent treatment for eight days in a healthcare facility soon after moving back to Britain this past May as a result of issues related to his cardiovascular health.

He also mentioned that before leaving Los Angeles, he had replaced his previous habits involving substances and drinking with fruit. I did get hooked on the fruit temporarily, he commented.

Not simply ordinary apples, mind you. They needed to be the specific brand... I arrived at a phase when occasionally I ingested multiple apples.

He further stated: It got to the point where I needed to seek help for my apple habit. It's a wonder I didn't wake up someday with a fruit tree emerging from my backside.

Last Honors

Following his death, the musician was honored with a touching goodbye as his coffin traveled one final time throughout his birthplace, observed by numerous supporters who chanted his name.

An additional program about the last six years of his existence, named No Escape From Now will premiere on Paramount+ on Tuesday, 7 October.

Certain supporters may watch it at special preview screenings in Birmingham on Friday, and London on Monday.
